Career
Integrating her passion for music and artistry with her technical background in audio engineering, Laura aka DJ Helios launched her career in 2015. She loves the universality of music and how people can celebrate community, culture and life on the dance floor. Helios coined the term “Hype You Up” to describe her mixes and her DJ style, bringing high energy tracks and seamless transitions between genres, decades and artists.
She fuses beats and pulls inspiration from her Mexican roots, her love of hip hop, house and funky edits. Helios prides herself on being a fully versatile DJ/MC - being truly bilingual and spinning anywhere from Cuatro Gato and Coconut Club to corporate events and markets. She loves working with local brands and businesses and was just featured on Voyage Austin Magazine! Andrew was born in Venezuela & raised in Miami, spending time in New Mexico & Colorado, finally landing in Texas, for the last 13 years. The son of a concert pianist, Andrew instantly gravitated towards music. At the age of just 12-years-old, he saved up for his first set of turntables, while simultaneously playing in a variety of Latin & jazz bands. He eventually found his calling producing his own electronic music & leading several bands, performing around Texas & touring the US with regularity.
He also owns a record label, releasing music for others, & even becoming a member of the Grammy’s (Recording Academy). His full scope of the industry gives him a nuanced perspective when it comes to live events.
Andrew has two decades of private event experience under his belt: corporate, wedding, private, birthday, concert, gala, etc.
His list of corporate clients are equally impressive, having played music for Facebook, Whole Foods, Red Bull, SXSW, & Bonnaroo Music Festival among many more.
